“The Force is what gives the Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.”
And the “Fourth” was strong with fans this past Star Wars Day!
Children’s Hospitals nationwide hosted May the 4th events bringing the excitement of this favorite fan holiday to their patients and families. Over 25 hospitals joined in on the celebrations with costumed character visits, art activities, jewelry making, special film screenings, Star Wars themed food and much more!
It’s not everyday you get to meet a Jedi, stormtrooper, or droid. Local volunteer fan groups like the 501st Legion, Rebel Legion, Mandalorian Mercs, Saber Guild, and R2-D2 Builder’s Club helped bring each event to life with character and droid visits. Master Jedi trained the next generation of Padawan learners how to harness their inner Force in a special Force training program.
Star Wars: Force for Change wants to give a special thanks to the supportive and inspirational teams at children’s hospitals around the country: the child life specialists, doctors, nurses, volunteers and other staff who brought the power of the “Fourth” and Force to their patients and families.
