UNICEF Kid Power & Star Wars: Force for Change are excited to announce that applications for the spring 2017 school program are now open. The UNICEF Kid Power school program is a teacher-led experience that leverages easy-to-use technology and standards-aligned lessons to allow kids to get active, save lives and learn how to be a global citizen. The three month school program will begin on March 1, 2017.
Eligible teachers can apply through December 1, 2016 to participate in the philanthropically funded program. *Preference is given to teachers in schools where 75% of students are eligible for free and reduced meals.
And, teachers now have the option to purchase a classroom kit through Scholastic.com while supplies last, or through early January. *Prices range from $1,000-$1,750 depending on the class size.
Each UNICEF Kid Power classroom kit comes with:
UNICEF Kid Power has already inspired more than 187,000 American kids to get active in the fight to end global malnutrition.
With the UNICEF Kid Power Band, the world’s first Wearable-for-Good®, students go on missions around the world to earn points and unlock therapeutic food packets for severely malnourished children. The more kids move, the more points they earn, and the more lives they save.
UNICEF Kid Power is a program of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, and is made possible through the generous support of Presenting Sponsors Star Wars: Force for Change and Target. To learn more, visit schools.unicefkidpower.org.
